Yes, you can use it. It is a 30 spline axle just the same as the newer ones. The only issue will be the bearings for the carrier. I found that Auburn has the PN for the special bearings for the older carrier to be used in a newer vehicle. Check out their website for the bearing numbers. FWIW, the newer carrier is a little thicker on the axle ends of the carrier and will be just a little bit stronger. If you're buying it from him, make sure its a really good price if you're putting it in your NBS truck.
