Been reading on the board awhile and there are some great builds going on here. I am looking for comments,suggestions on a ls motor into my 77 K5.

The truck is going to be a toy/part time driver. It has 3.43 gears in it now with a 12 bolt rear end and a Dana 44 up front. Also has a 203 transfer case. I am going to go 6 to 8" of lift with either 35 or 37" tires. I want something that is reliable, streetable but with enough power to have a blast on the sand.

I was considering going an LQ9 engine but dont know what trans/t case would be the best combo for my needs. What upgrades to the engine/trans should I be considering?
