    A few electrical questions....

Just snatched the LT1/700R out of my 86 to start the rebuild. Want to go back with a 6 liter with a 4l80e. I'm separating the engine harness from the truck harness and was wondering if the 4l80e has a VSS on the tailshaft? I have a Dakota Digital gauge cluster. Also, I have been running Z28 electric fans with a painless wiring relay kit, using temp sensors in the heads and turning them on with the AC compressor. Does the PCM run the fans also? Thanks, just trying to make sure I do this right.

90% of the 80e trans have two speedo sensors, one in the tailhousing and one on the input drum. The PCM compares the two to check for clutch slippage and many other things. The PCM outputs the signal to the speedometer using an isolated single wire feed to the speedo. Yes, the PCM controls the on/off of the fans if you install it that way. You can control the on/off temp in the PCM tune.

Thanks! Can the "pulses per mile" output be changed in the tune as well?

Absolutely, that's the whole purpose of tuning software.
