    1998 2 Dr Tahoe 5.3 or 6.0 Swap

Looking to swap in a LQ4 or LM7 (5.3) motor in my 98 2Dr Tahoe with the 5.7 Vortec. Whats needed to run a LS motor in place of the 5.7? PCM Swap or can I just repin the 5.7 PCM? Also looking to swap in a 4l80E I have a cross-member from a 94 6.5TD Blazer with the 4l80E Can I use that?

LQ4 with 80e will be a solid setup. You can get NelsonPerformance or another vendor to build you a harness and program a PCM for the swap. The NP harness has only a very few connections to tie into your original harness. Contact them and they'll set you up.

I have searched the forum high and low on what needs to be pinned into the PCM with no luck . So if anyone can help me with pinning in a 99-02 5.3 Harness along with my 98's harness for gauges I would much appreciate it. Has anyone here swapped over completely to a 411 PCM in a 98 like in this thread? GM Performance :: View topic - 98 GMC Twin Turbo with 12200411 PCM--- It's Alive

Also is it possible to run my 98's VIN in the 411 PCM while it recognizes the 5.3? Reason I ask is because when I get plugged into the inspection machine for OBD-II Smog and I'm not running my vehicles correct VIN I'll get flagged for a VIN mismatch (I have a MA inspection license for part of my job)

Contact user NITROUS. He's very familiar with the 98 conversion, has a very nice one himself. He may be able to answer your questions about the PCM.
