    408 Swap underway

My 408 is finally ready so I am having it put in to replace the 5.3. Is there anything that I need to do or modify in order to do this swap? Also, I have a SSR intake that I wanted to put in but want to know if it is a straight forward install. Should I get a 90mm TB to go with the new intake.

You need an updated tune. Yes, a 90mm TB is a must have in my books.

What heads do you plan to use with it? You need to space the windage tray down about .1", the standard thickness of an ARP washer. Also check that the oil pickup tube isn't closer than 1/4" to the bottom of the oil pan.

I bought EFI Live and Justin sent me a 408 tune to get me started.

    What TB do you recommend?

I am using P&P 6.0 heads from WCCH.

I plan on going F/I so should I just use my stock truck intake instead of the SSR one? What about the stock TB?

I haven't done it yet but a fast 90mm setup would be great for the 408. Rhymes, huh. You could go with an aluminum 4 barrel type intake with an elbow and the 90mm setup. That's what I'm contemplating but I think I'll look for a larger TB than 90mm when I finally do mine. If 78mm is for 5.7s and 90mm is for 6.0s, seems like you'd need around 100mm for 6.7L engines. If you had gone to a rectangular port intake like the L92 I'd say go with the L92 or L76 intake and TB. If you go with a 90mm there are lots of good manufacturers out there but the Nick Williams seems to be more popular for performance than even the FAST units.

I guess I should ask if you have cable or electronic throttle.

I guess more information is needed. Is this a N/A engine or is it forced induction?

Just because I am nosey & just finished my 408 swap, what are yur specs? I am running the WCCH's too.

I am still running the stock 6.0L TB & intake, and that could be why it seems to lack up top. Could be the unfinished tune too. But I am planning on turbo, so I don't plan on changing it.

The engine is set up with a 8.7 cr and I will be installing a STS with GT70 after the engine gets broken in. I was told the cam is 224/231 LSA 114, 595 dur.

The next step up was the GT76 but I did not want too much lag.
