    HPT Question

I'm new to HPT, My question is I have a 99 Silverado 1500 that had a 4.8l. I put in a 05 6.0l. I downloaded a stock 6.0l tune from HPT Repository but it wont let me write it to my truck. Says I need to license it. How can I put a stock 6.0l tune on it so I can tweak it from there? Thanks for any help to a newbe.

use the compare feature and copy all the data from the 6L file to the 4.8L file that you already have licensed.

how do you expect to tune your actual vehicle? you dont have to copy everything. Instead of doing all that copying why dont you just tune the truck yoruself since i garrenty youll be better off doing changes instead of just loading a file since its a stock file

change the cylinder volume to the 6litre table then start tuning

After comparing the files I decided to go with Quik's route. After all that is why I bought HPT. Ok, so I ran a scan log and can see that my ltft and stft is off as well as I am getting kr from 4k to 5200. My question is I'm not sure where to start. Do I start with taking timing out to get ride of the kr? Or should I start with the ltft first. I'm not sure how to post the log file.

No need to copy all that stuff. Just monitor the ltrims and tune accordingly.

You'll actually be able to just start your truck up with the 4.8L file, drive it and tune it.

let the Knock sensors do their job for now. Just tune teh ve table first to get truck running right. since your keeping maf for now then dial that in. once you get al lthat then play with timing

I don't think there is one I just made my own, frequency vs. stft.
    Step 1. crus at it.
    Step 2. get a hammer.
    Step 3. torch it.
