    T56 tranny 02 5.3

does anyone know if a 1998 camaro ss t-56 six speed will bolt up to a 2002 5.3 vortec w/o a different bellhousing, i had heard that 2000-2002 would but maybe i was just told that because it was a newer year and was more of a reccomendation than a fact. thanks all

It should work, the 1998 has the LS1 which is the same as your 5.3.

Don't try to reuse a stock type clutch they are junk. Get a good aftermarket clutch/pressure plate.

Be sure to check where the stick-shift will be located and that you'll be happy with it there. A lot of guys have had to relocate the shifter forward using the Keisler shift rail location kit. The kit isn't cheap but it makes it a more comfortable position to shift from.

Check out their website for options... Street Rod / Kit Car 5-speed and Street Rod / Kit Car 6-speed overdrive transmission systems for Street Rod / Kit Car (Tremec TKO-500 TKO-600 T56) from Keisler Engineering
