I now have over 1000 miles on the swap! I am driving it to work everyday now. I put the tranny from my other truck in there and it works great. Haven't got a good check on fuel mileage yet-everytime I come to a stop I just HAVE to roast the tires! It will eat them pretty good from a 30mph punch so I have been doing that a lot too! The next mod will be some new back tires. The only things I still have to do before I am calling it completely finished are: put the glovebox back in, get the cruise working, and tune out some part throttle detonation I am getting. I am extremely pleased with the swap-well worth the effort. Those guys that invented the small block back in 1955 should have invented the ls1 instead!

My buddy got a new g-tech for Christmas and he says it is dead accurate on his truck with what it ran the last time at the track. Evidently the old ones were known for being junk and the new ones are supposed to be pretty good. Anyways, so far it has went 14.05 and 14.07 at 101 and the best 1/8th mile is 8.86 at 83. Pretty much right where I expected it to run. With traction it would go 13.6 or 13.7. This is with 3.08 gears. It got 18.4 mpg on the last fillup.

Another update: Have over 5000 miles now, still prring like a tiger! Definitely the best mod ever. Have raced a 13.3 at 104 Lightning and he only put about 1-2 lengths on me and then we were glued together up to 135mph! Spanked a new 350z from an 80 punch, and pulled away from a 96 or 97 mustang cobra from a 25 roll just yesterday! Definitely a sleeper. I have already burned the auburn posi and it was new a few months ago. Got the 1 wheel peel now.
