    Electric Cooling fan Kits

I'm looking at going to an electric fan on my '01 Silverado. I've been shopping around and have noticed two different systems; one where the fan unit has a built in shroud that covers the entire radiator and another kit the uses two 14" fans with round shrouds.

The second system ends up leaving some of the radiator uncovered by the fan shroud so the system doesn't pull air evenly through the entire radiator. Is this bad?

I would recommend a shroud with 2 fans, like a Flex-a-lite, Perma-Cool, T-Fal, or Trick fans. The LS1 fans that have no shroud work just fine as well, but a shrouded fan can pull more CFMs over the entire surface area of the radiator than the unshroudded LS1 fans can. But like I said, LS1 style fans work just fine, but Flex-a-lites work slightly better...

I am on a budget i was looking at flex a lite fans and they are just a little too steep, i may have my choice of some parts from a wrecked corvette, is it somewhat painless to install the electric fans from the vette to my truck
