ok this person has some stuff wrong in their post. it says ls1 out of an escalade. then it says 300 hp(LQ4 never was in an escalade to my knowledge, could be wrong tho). i know they came with 5.3's and the lq9...

    Ever heard of a 4L80e behind a stock 5.3?

LS1 is a style these days, not a real engine when it comes to trucks. Look at all the members we have here on "LS1"truck.

ls1 is not a style LS is a style and according to some literature i have they actually differentiate between ls and the lq motors. they are ls1 based yes but not ls1 engines. thats how i see it, but i see ur view as well. but saying its an ls1 motor misrepresents it to 99% of the consumers out there. according to gm LS1=5.7L gen III not 4.8, 5.3, 5.7, 5.7, 6.0, 6.0. thats my point.
