any one els have wheel hop after swap?

Finally got every thing sorted out on my swap. 95 4.8 5 speed and she runs like a top!
Got to finally go balls to the walls in it today and it really starts to pull hard at ~3500-red line (should get some bottom back when exhaust is hooked up)
Second gear at about 4500 rpm it starts braking lose then starts to hop bad. Have to pedal it to get it on to the top of the rpm range and cram third with a nice little spin then it hooks back and feels like a rocket compared to the old 350 tbi.
So, looks like some trac bars are now added to the list.
Any one els have some hop problems after the swap? BTW, I have a flip kit out back.

Some trucks just have it and some don't.
A set of bars in the back will help it bite the road harder and keep it under control.

Didnt have it with the old 350. I guess its cause the higher mph when it starts spinning.

not to thread jack but since we are on the subject, ive been contemplating trac bars. but i dont have any wheel hop as my tires dont have much traction so they just light right up. are the trac bars more for wheel hop and spring warp which IN TURN provide better traction? or do they actually PUSH the tire down on the ground for better traction? ive been reading on them about the thicknesses and different lengths and how they work. just wondering how well they help on our trucks.

From what I gather, they help traction as well. But iv also gathered there for more straight line and don't offer any better turning ability. That would be were a sway bar would come into play.
Does your truck squat hard under power? Or does it perk up? One thing that will help you would be some fatter meats out back. Some 305 or 315's would do the trick I bet

Also, on a side note. Why would my open differential lock up both tires 9 times out of 10 now? I'm not complaining, just curious haha. Used to be a solid one tire fryer

im really not sure what happens to my rear suspension to be honest. all i know is i have damn near zero traction when i punch it. i already started a thread or two about gaining traction with bigger/better tires and that is definately on the list. but from the measurements i took, the most i can fit is a 285. 295 IF im lucky. thats due to the rims i have which im not changing. i do plan on getting fatter tires but i was just wondering if it was worth making some trac bars also. i have a 4/6 drop with flip kit... trac bars are hard to come by with that setup. lol so i was thinking about fabbing one up. just didnt wanna do all that work if it didnt help all that much you know?

i think i know what you mean... i thought i always only had one tire slipping.. which probably was the case with the POS tbi... but with all the power, the 10 bolt "L.S." we have locks up anytime there is wheel slip on the one MAIN drive tire. im thinking brfore, when the second tire gained traction, the truck would move. but now that there is SOOOO much power, they both light up!!!

to be honest, i just did a nasty ass burn out today for damn near 100 ft until i had to let off for the tires to grip, then i could go! hence the reason im asking about trac bars... LMFAO.

You might want to check you pinion angle with a flip it will change and could give you the wheel hop

Didn't think about the pinion angle. But even with the u bolts that were sent with my flip kit, I don't think there's enuff thread left to put any shims in
Iv been looking at long bars instead or trak bars. They seam to plant more and reduce wheel hop a lot more. They seem to be fabricated a lot easier and cheaper and serve the same purpose

U bolts are cheap if you haven't got you pinion angle right could cause other driveline problems . you cant just flip the pad on a axle flip drive shaft angle is totally different .I went with assassin bars cant beat um Supper nice! and are cheaper than caltracs

Think I found some of my problem, today the passenger side shock dolts broke. So I guess there wasn't snuff travel in it.
