Kids and their potty mouths. Some adults too. I am sad as well to see people spitting curse words out without good provocation or reprimand.

83 views and 3 post, does that tell you something? who freaking cares, if you dont like the words damn, damn it, and any other common word thats used everyday on any site on the web then you all need to graduate from elementary school and move on..
on a side note the ones that do spit out a curse word here and there are the ones that usually know what they are talking about, read more post you'll see so much miss informed ( misleading) info on this site its begun to get stupid :( unfortunately i like this site and keep coming back but the lack of new info has gone down the ..
Agreed with the last 2 posts. Some things your not going to get away from, cursing is going to be one of them. This is a public site, with people from all over the place. Some people handle there selves in a diff manor.. If the post is some what informative, who cares if it has cursing in it.. Hell they saw a ton of it on TV now
Cursing makes you appear ignorant because you can't find another word to express how you feel. Now I'm not saying all cursing is bad, but to have to sit and actually type it on the net you have time to find another way to express yourself. There is a time and place for it, but on the net is not the place. Otherwise this site will turn into GMFS.

No reason for it...no matter what side of the argument you're on...
For those that think this site has gone lame lately with technical help, advice or articles, put up or shut up. There are a lot of people that come to this site and suck the life out of it and don't contribute. Be a supporter of the website rather than using it only for personal gain. If I do something new that nobody has done before or have great success with, I do my best to document it for others. Sometimes the simplest things can make somebody's day. Let's learn from one another, never be afraid to be the teacher.
Wow, LOL. the responses are funny. I said i liked that aspect about this site. I can curse up a storm just like the next person, it doesnt mean i want or need to do it. If following rules is that hard then i'm not the one that needs to graduate from elementary.

There is some good LS info here. But some refuse to believe the rest of the automotive world exists, which ends up leaving them without an understanding of the basics.
Really? Have you helped to advance this website with anything other than to dispute someone else's post? Have you personally written any technical articles for others or are you one of those sucking the life of of what used to be a great website? Those that cannot simply reply to a post and move on their way are a bigger thorn in the side of the site than those that post misinformation. We don't want people coming to the site just to see the battles of the mega-know-it-all personalities that will argue the color of the night sky.
I agree with RedHeartBeat %100 We should not let the potty mouths cloud up the site.
Its just a basic rule to follow. Not hard at all. I'm all for a clean site!!
ppl swear of all positions. In real world words are spoken, if you dislike a swear word sorry to hear. Maybe its just a different place up here and on job sites and its more censored down southern parts?
where I work, if you were to swear in the office you can pretty much gaurantee you'll be packing your bags to look for another job. Professional people don't act or speak profanity and if this site actually makes you think twice about using profanity in public then it will be better for you in the long run. For some reason I see you swearing in church while sitting next to your grandmother, if she's still alive, and not thinking twice about it. I'm sad to think that you find it necessary to use profanity in your everyday conversation to strangers. I've actually seen guys laid out cold on the concrete for swearing in front of a lady.
I'm going to throw in one more bit of information that hasn't been mentioned:
1.) This is Allen's site
2.) Allen has either developed or agreed to the rules that have been created.
3.) Not swearing is one of those rules.
4.) YOUR OPINION OF WHETHER THE RULE IS STUPID OR UNFAIR OR UNREALISTIC IS COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT. It's one of the rules you agreed to when you signed up here. When you clicked the "AGREE" button, that meant you would abide by the rules.
why anyone would defend cussing is beyond me, actually quite pathetic. now let me establish myself as a hypocrite because as much as i try not to cuss i do. However there is a difference between something accidentally slipping out,(in conversation) and putting thought into typing it onto a computer right? love this site and it takes the contributions from all kinds of people- cussing and non lol! so i leave you with this: why look for grey area and say ''well everybody else is doing it''or just accepting it as the ''norm'' (witch lends greatly to the demise of our society -there are defined right and wrongs)its clearly posted as a rule and a lot of people don't want to hear it, so why not respect your fellow site members and not put the effort into doing it.
What some people refuse to wrap their head around is that this forum is Allen's and he has rules in place and every member here agreed to them.
In essence, it's like inviting a bunch of people into your home and letting them know you don't allow swearing in your home. Then some moron says "ok, I won't sweat" but then gets in your house and decide those rules don't apply to them and they don't have to follow them. The head of that house has every right to ask the person to stop swearing or to leave. If you don't like the rule - don't go to the persons house. They probably don't enjoy your company anyway.
The same is true on the site. If you don't like the rules and constantly buck them, your presence probably isn't really wanted here by the majority anyway and most would be just fine seeing you leave. But the bottom line is the owner of the site or those moderators he's entrusted the site with, have the right to send those ones packing.
At first, I thought it was a silly rule, but I'll admit, it's probably one of the only reasons I still come here. Most of the other forums are filled with unnecessary swearing, and constant random pictures of chicks. I swear when I'm with my friends as much as the next guy, and I love chicks, but there are sites for looking at those too. Usually when I'm on here, it's because I had some genius idea and want to see if anyone has done it before, how it worked, or why it didn't. Cursing simply doesn't add to that. This site is like a 'family'. The people that want to argue every rule add very little. And the ones that dis the site the most, seem to be on it the most.
I'll agree there haven't been too many 'new' topics lately, or any real good write ups, but there are still people that will walk you through procedures, or send pics of how something SHOULD be.
