Probably worth it. How many miles, is it in good running condition? Count on upgrading your tranny because that 6.0 will destroy a stock 4l60.
Yeah if you don't have to open it up at all it's worth that IMO. Your tranny will hold up for a while if you don't drag race it all the time. I'm putting 450LB torque to mine with just increased pressure and shift points.
its got 114k on it. all up and running in a wrecked truck, and its local. and yeah I do plan on beefing up the tranny, I actually just replaced it cause it went.
do it well worth it man!
2000. Iron Heads.
Be sure to run the 4l80e trans
do it
I'd just put in a cam and run it. You can always rebuild it in a couple years/ Maybe platigauge the mains if you're worried
You'll love it. By personal experience, if its not too big of a problem I'd keep the 4l60e. It'll be faster with it. And then make the swap to an 80e. The 80e will rob you of low end torque given the difference in first gear ratios, 3.06 v.s 2.48.
I would buy a 2002 up 6.0 that way it has the other crank and alum heads.
