Relocated My Coils

Got bored, took the intake off my truck and mocked it up on a block I have in my garage. I like to keep things simple. Its just some aluminum angle that has been cut and bent. 1/4 all thread is ran through and has nuts holding the coils in place. I have a space to clear my oil pressure sender. Ill slap it on the motor sometime tomorrow and see how it goes. These are not the wires I will be running. looks nice,got any pics of the brackets alone?ive always liked the coil relocation look.ive done it b4 but on the fire wall,,

no wonder if allen can make the coil plug harness extension??

you can pretty much see on the second to last pic. Ill go snap another of just the bracket.

oh yea i see,,that be cool though...are u splicing and saudering to make the wires reach the plug?thats what i did ,but really dont want to do that on my 08',,ide like to get someone to make extensions.

My wire that goes to my coils should be long enough to reach. As for plug wires, Ive gotten a set of LT1 wires I used on Dozerdans that Im going to see if they work. If not Ill get some MSDs or Taylors and cut them to length.

yes they are.. they wont go on my truck..even for mock up.. i told you before you even bought them, green was bad luck and not to get them.

the idea looks familar, um..... looks good bud. let me know how the 4150 works out for ya, also you using a 14" air cleaner? if so liked to see pics

George Ive had the 4150 on there for a while. Throttle response is pretty damn quick with it. Yea I knew you stuck yours back there with your fast intake. Right now I just have a carb hat with a 3in opening, its a freebie. Im going to get one with a 4 in opening. A 14 in air cleaner wont fit, the throttle linkage is in the way for one.

^^would a 14" filter fit it you had an offset base? could you use a small spacer too?

there's not alot of room for the airfilter because of the cowl as well...and i don't know if he's willin to take a sawzall to the cowl yet

and like tyler said, that thing is super snappy.

ive considered that option but wanted the round air cleaner look.

yep i do to but it aint going to work. im not going to spend alot of money of tryin to find a base and top that will work. its going to require a very thin air filter also

nope...it would take a very thin filter to work...some guys from arkansas did one on their truck called the woodhauler but i don't think they really liked it...the guys name on pt.net was rhino79 i think

the main problem is with my my throttle body, the arm the the linkage links to is too high and hits the bottom pan. http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c3...1/100_2469.jpg

well if you figure something out that works let me know. i was thinking that intake setup and a round filter so it looks old school.

If I do find somethin Ill let ya know.. truck has been sittin for 6 months or so. I know were a 4l60e with a shift kit is if I can get it with out the guy knowin, that way I can have something to drive.

Im gettin a 4l80e hopefully by spring. Im just stickin this trans and converter in that way my wife aint complaining about makin insurance payments on a truck that doesnt run.

HAHHA...gotta keep the wifey happy!

Having a stock verter in there is gunna be weird. I had to run a stock verter for a while when I was having mine refreshed and restalled...and it felt like someone cut my balls off. :LOL:
