just wondering.. would anyone think i lost power adding exhaust to my truck? its on the Hd 6.0 i have 2 cheap thunderbolts
yes i have true duals 2 muffler side by side it seems i lost low end.. what about just 1 flowmaster muffler with 2 in and 2 out? or 2 in and 1 out?
what do i need to do to get my low end back on the exhaust situation..
would 2 in and 1 out be better for power?
or 2 in and 1 out?
am i trying to lose back pressure? for power.. which means more muffler more back pressure?
the only thing you really can do is to ditch the duals. yes, you need back pressure to re-gain your low end. a muffler isn't going to make too much of a difference w/ duals. if you wanna keep the duals tho, you could merge the duals into one muffler, that would help a little
you want a free flowing exhaust...Its like the deal with cut outs...your basically runnning straight headers on my truck since i have no cats, but I lose a little on the bottom end but gain some on the big end...trade off...IMO if your happy with the sound its good enough.
so what can i do with it? i dont care about the soun i want low end back..
so are you saying just run my factory pipes into a 2 in and 1 out? and that would help my low end? or what else could i do to the exhaust to help it?
First off. Take off your tb spacer and use it as a paper weight. Then just get some of your back pressure back.
i would think that if youre sill using stock manifolds you probably would have more back pressure with straight pipes than alot of the exhaust systems around using headers....
+1 on what mitch said but I gained low end when I switch to my headers. So idk.
I had a tb spacer once. I put it on my 98 tahoe. Lost all bottom end. Took it back and returned it.
ya, scrap the TBS and i wouldnt worry about your exhaust setup, maybe if you had headers with true dual 3" tubing, maybe you would have some issues....
ok.. so back to
the exhaust.. i have to mufflers on the true dual truck.. do i need to run those pipes into 1 muffler to get back some low end? or what
ok didnt see those last replys so the tb spacer needs to go?
ok what if. i ran a y pipe after my cats into a single pipe and put 1 flowmaster muffler on there with 1 enter and 1 exit hole. 2.5 inches? more low end?
The spacer only needs to go to a "buddy" to fund effective mods.
Yes, they can help on the upright T/B's like a Vortec 350.
Dude just buy a big case magnaflow dual in single out and dump it. Done.
sounds good to me
