Welcome to the site.
Welcome to the site! Post up some pics of your trucks when you get a chance.

nice, Got a question, who do I get to modify my harness for the 4.8. I need someone to clean it up, like make it for a 700r4?
Go here and you can load them... http://www.ls1truck.com/upload/ or host them on photobucket and they'll automatically be resized to a web friendly size.
Nelsonperformance.com
Speartech
ArizonaSpeed and Marine, I think
Street and Performance
NP is a website sponsor so we lean his way. They can modify your harness or build you something.
cool, turns out it is only a $200 difference to buy a new harness.
:wave:Welcome.
welcome to ls1truck!!
Howdy. Let us know once you get the pics figured out. Why a 4.8L? I would go 5.3L at minimum...
Welcome.
Info on the '68?
I followed the 'burban on 67-72 chevy's website. Nice piece of work.
I wish your SUV article had a little more on the current guys, not just the stock stuff.
I got the complete 48,000 mile 4.8 for $500
attempting to load photos now.
Welcome to the site. Glad to have you. Being you are about to start a swap I wish you luck ahead of time. I would say go 5.3... but if the price is right a 4.8 is a good start.
Welcome.
Sell the 4.8 for more than you paid to a rebuilder type shop (they're all over out in the country) and use the procedes to step up.
Welcome..cant wait to see some pics :)
daNG, i AM TRYING BUT IT KEEPS HASSELING ME.
here we go. dang.
O.k. so I loaded them, how do I attach the damn things, really, this is way too hard.
This is what I do for a living and it is too complicated
Cut and paste the image tags you got when you uploaded them to the hosting site.
Cool. I knew you could do it.
Yeah, I almost died mid-way, now if I can get that damn motor in this weekend.
seriously those things look heavy. I am iffy on if a 4.8 is going to push them hard enough. Especially stock. You may want to get a turbo kit to go with it. Cam and Stall it at least.
Welcome to the site....love that IH!
+1 on the IH...looks nice! :thumb:
Here's another pic tidbit. Resize them to much smaller (even though the forum does it in a post) so that it uploads quicker to the photo hot AND our personal machines load the page quicker.
nice trucks i guess that you like yellow? WELCOME
Yep...where I come from that's called Wire Mule Yellow. Looks good.
Niiiiiiice! :thumb:
Do the tires rub on the 02? And since you are taking the 4.8L out of it--what is going back in its place??
Whats the 68 gunna have done to it?
Nice work on the IH.
You need FI if putting that itty bitty 4.8L in there...
hmm sell me ur old 350 is it 4boltmain
oh yea btw welcome haha
Cool, thanks, the 68 was like that when I bought it, it was cheap enough. Thus far I shoved a new 327/350 turbo in it along with SSBC brakes, tubular upper and lower control arms and a big sway bar.
The 4.8 in the Silverado runs just fine with the intake and exhaust no trouble at all. The tires don't rub unles you turn to the extreme left or right but they are hitting those little flaps.
As for the yellow IH, it only weighs 2600 with me in it, (I got scales) that is all iron too. figure on the aluminum head 4.8, plus its a little smaller and I should save more weight there. we'll see, I may go with a supercharger or just a few cool items like a tune and LS6 intake.
Nice. Good call on the 327. Those motors were sweet! Is it the 327 truck motor? Or did ya do some mods to it to raise CR and get more power out of it?
A supercharger on that truck would truely be unique... You would definitely get more out of it with a S/C versus an intake and bolt ons...
yeah,
I think I am going to supecharge the '47 first and the silverado after its paid off. We'll have to see first.
The 327 is a pass car motor that's 0.30 over, aluminum intake and a demon 650 flowing into long tube headers. i have a set of new HVH aluminum heads for it but I only have the cash to build one at a time and the '47 has been together for a few years and really needs a freshening up.
