Before I had any work done to it, I had zero issues with the dod. I was never able to feel or hear it engage.
It ran great besides the very slight shudder in OD and chop in the idle at red lights or while warming up.
The only thing the second shop tuner said was "you have multiple misfires in cylinder 3". He didn't mention any codes at that time.
edit I had emailed the second shops tuner for info about it throwing any codes. He had said no codes but it had misfires in multiple cylinders. Nothing severe enough for it to throw any codes though.
edit I had asked if he remembered which ones were misfiring, he answered "All of them. The dod cylinders had higher counts then the rest though."
This may sound stupid. Is this as bad as it sounds?

A small update, I was hoping this would resolve the issue with amount of play in the yoke.
I replaced my tail shaft housing, yoke and u-joints with the only positive result being that it feels more direct with no hesitation or clunking at stops or from slowing down and speeding up.
With all the information I have gathered from this and many other forums I will be bringing a list of questions to ask so I am more prepared when they use the scan tool.
