Thanks guys. I am very impressed with the cam. It sounds great and it has a ton of power. It is not tuned yet and at 40mph I can put the truck sideways. I will get it dyno tuned in the next 2 to 3 weeks and will post up some numbers and a video.

what did you have to do to run the original alternator in the bracket? I have the stock obs one and the 5.3 one but am undecided on which to use. I would still like to keep my battery light if possible and use the old alternator.
You can use the one from the 5.3 with the LS bracket. I used the LS bracket with the original 6.0 alternator with the one wire that goes to the battery light. Works great.
It took some force but I managed to use the long bolt from the LS engine on the right bolt hole, and then threaded in the short original bolt on the left hole. It was pretty easy, just needed to use a pry bar to line it up just right. Some LS trucks used higher voltage alternators which use a different mounting pattern. I lucked out and had the same amp alternator.
so are you saying a higher output alti is gonna be physiscally diff than a stck one? i thought they would be the same dimensinally just diff electrically... id def like to know the differences.

wow. good info man. i never thought they would be diff like that. i always figured you could upgrade your alti and it would fit. so this means you have to actually change the bracket n everything.
does the higher amp one come stock on a diff truck like an hd model or similar? its got to fit something... they wouldnt just change the design out of nowhere and say "here ya go...good luck mounting it.."
I have the higher amp alternator on my 6.0. It came with one so I'm not sure if the mounting bracket is the same as ones used on the lighter amp alternators. I thought the brackets were all the same.

Just an FYI, these alternators that I have listed are for the 1994 model. I used my original alternator instead of adapting a newer one.
