Mine was pretty far out. I got a magnetic protractor and put it on one of the bearing caps and the pinion was 6 to 7 degrees positive angled towards the bottom of the truck. I leveled out the tranny and motor using a 1/2" aluminum spacer I made. If you lower a vehicle 4 inches or more you more than likely are on the edge of a pinion angle problem. I put a 3 degree wedge shim under the leaf springs and that got me withing tolerance but I'd still like to have the pinion 2 degrees lower to help me hook up and knockout vibration. I think I'm going to cut the rear axle housing mounts off and setthe pinion angle and weld them back. This is the proper way to correct the angle without shims. I'm good for now but I want to do it right.
