so now that i know kinda what i need to get can you guy give me some brand names and models that are good, i dont want junk
If your wanting a turbo kit Check out Nelsons new front mount kit or find yourself a rear mount STS kit.
You will need supporting mods too. Dont think you can just slap it on. Trannys suck, rear ends break, Fuel pump and injectors need upgraded.
heads, built tranny, converter, long tubes, exhaust, possibly efans, tune
ah a trany will be really expensive, but worth it
i still need specifics guys
i would preffer constant hp and refilling the bottle would get annoying and expensive
Yea we all would like to go the turbo route. But your best bang for your buck is going to be buying a kit from nelson. I don't know how much experience you have had with the trucks and suv's because as you had stated in a previous post you are thinking about multiple vehicles. Don't forget these vehicles also like different cams with those turbo's. And different rear end gears. I'm not trying to offend you here but I myself am still quite the newb these vehicles. Start maybe with an intake/exhaust/tune. See what type of reaction you will get from those things first, then see about the turbo. The turbo route is cool none the less, but it really sucks if you don't know how to fix it WHEN it breaks. Its Murphey's law man.
yeah i know what you mean, that is what i will probably do first, nelson tune, cai, exhaust, and maybe cam or shift kit depending
thanks man
I vote for a performance torque converter. I might be a little biased though. It is close to a shot of nitrous but with no bottle to fill.
Chris
so has anyone had any good experiences with torque converters?
I personally run a converter from Chris at Circle D and love it.
just buy that F.A.S.T intake with direct NOS injection. you'll have enough motor to get you through second... maybe
what kind of improvements did you see after you installed it?
what could be done for handling? stiffer shocks, wider lower profile tires....any ideas?
why 2500hd? wouldn't it be better to run shocks that were specifically designed for you truck? or were you just looking for the added stiffness?
i have also been looking into exhausts, which brand do you guys think delivers the highest hp gain? Im not so much concerned with the sound....even though i dont want it to sound bad....i just want the most hp possible
5.3l 04 silverado extended cab, and it is stock unfortunately
Me personally I like trick perf exhaust through 4" straight diesel muffler.
Trick Performance Products
sound can be heard below.
YouTube - 4exhaust
This "exhaust" will kill rear ends transmissions and on non forged engines too much boost will kill the engine.
i was thinking something like this for exhaust
1999 - 2005 Chevrolet / GMC 1500 [17362] - $482.24 : Flowmaster Inc. Exhaust Shop, Love That Sound! CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 V8&orig=17362
or
MagnaFlow Performance Exhaust
what is the difference between the two?
how are borla's?
