it can be done, do a LQ4 an a bigger cam
hmm, ok ill check out the lq9 with the 80e to see if its legit. and i would love to do a bigger cam but i dont really want to put a bigger stall in it. i want to keep the stock converter.
all you need is like a 3000 man i wish every truck came with a 3000 stall stock lol
just do a LQ4 to keep the price down. people want an arm and a leg for them
circle d offers a 12' 3k stall for only 375.00
ha yall are really trying to talk me into it. ok then well i suppose ill go with a bigger stall. i just dont care much for the way it sounds from a stop. thats just me though. anyways, if i put in a 3000 stall what would be the biggest cam i could put in there. cause like i said i would love to go bigger. but i also dont want to loose any bottom end.
Understanding where ur comming from, I've got a family and a buget, I am thinking of going w/ the ls6 cam also just to step up a little, one can get them cheap. I like the smooth idle w/ the other mods, drivabilty w/ my DD is great, W/ a little spray & 410 gears u can make it run really good....mid 12's...:nx:
yea, i do like the sound of an ls6 cam though. oh and also, this is something that i have been meaning to ask. would it be cheaper to build the stock 60e or put in an 80e with just the shift kit.
its ok, i'm running a 2200 rpm stall behind my High CR cammed LQ4. i do more street driving than anything, i would go through converters like craz if i went to high on my stall speed.
80 Imo. IVe been down the built 60e route and now im swapping to an 80e. Do it right the first time.
a 3000 stall is better than what you have stock. i cant foot brake past 1600 or it spins. my friend has a CCSB LQ4 with PRC 5.3 heads, a 224/224 cam 4:10s an a TT3000 and he put down 411rwhp on 20s. drives it everywhere, its the family car...still gets 17mpg
if i dont want a huge stall, the 3000 is the biggest id go.
im putting a 3200 in my CC, i may cam it, but i dunno
ha iv said this once before about the h-pipe. i dont feel like talking about it again. look back a couple pages and you will see. and yea, im pretty sure it can be done around 3 grand with me doing all the labor. and i say maybe locker cause having a locker resulting in me totalling my last truck.
stock wheels are a must
