speedometer

How did it turn out?

I never got to it because i was prepping for the huricane.I also had no power for 8 days.I will try to get it done if the weather stays nice next week sometime.

I finally got around to doing it today.I have a 1999 computer for my 5.3.I connected from vss on tranny LT Green/black to pin 20,Purple/white to pin 21 on red connector.I left the vss connected to drac of my truck.I connected pin 50 red connector from 5.3 pcm to LT Blue/black wire cut from drac for output to speedometer.When i first tried it speedometer read exactly the same as before which was 10 to 12 mph to fast.After messing with hptuners the only way i could get speedometer to read better was to change vss output pulse rate from 4000 to 3600.I am now about 3 to 4 mph fast.I ran out of time but i am pretty close.I am not sure if that is the proper way to adjust it but when i messed with gear ratio the speedometer never changed.I will lower pulse rate more to try to get it correct when i have some time.The truck is 1992.

I changed the vss output to 3500 and speedometer reading is perfect.
