Why not just try what you got, as far as cam & stall go, with a set of 4.10 gears and see what happens. How tall are your tires overall? This way you can tell if you want a to buy a bigger stall or just go back to a milder cam, or heck it might just work out just fine. Alot comes into count when your talking about personal preference, from whats tame to you not ever going to be the same for the next person.
Thanks guys! No the truck isn't a DD but it is my sunny day truck. I just wanna make sure wpith the cam its not too much, from what I've seen this cam is soooo badass I've just been hearing that with this cam in my xcab truck 3500 won't be enough. I have no issue going with 4.10s I run 4.10s in my lifted 05 CCLB with a 6.0l and love the low end power but once I'm running about 75 mph its running higher rpm and burning gas like crazy. That was the only reason I was debating on 3.73s.
So if I keep the cam and buy 4.10s how much of a difference is the 4k stall going to benefit me over the 3500?? Thanks for all the input guys!!!!
You can always try it with the 3500, but it really NEEDS a 4000. Once you're up and going the stall won't matter, but getting it going is going to be a chore without a big stall.
Ok, ok keep the cam, get a 4k stall ditch the 3500 and run 4.10s not a problem, I was planning on running dual borla xr1s from the header dumped before the rear axle, with this setup is it going to be to loud to stand to be in for long trips? I can get an endless supply of ear plugs, but what do you guys think??
I just swapped from the loudest exhaust I've ever had (except for open headers) to the quietest I could find because my truck is daily driven. If you're dumping it its going to resonate more. But loud is subjective. I loved mine until I cruised 8 hours home from SAR with a blown headgasket at 3000RPM the whole way.
