The truck is a daily driver and hauler might haul 6,-7,000 lbs here and there. I want to use the 5.3 and still get good gas mileage. I was gonna do a LY6 Swap but i dont have time.
My 5.3 is at 323.9 RWHP. TR220 cam, PVC pipe intake, K&N drop in filter, street tune, Efans, and 3000 ish stall. Not insane, but fun. I'm hoping that when I get back from this deployment Nelson Performance might be able to pull a few more ponies out of it with a dyno tune. Then depending on what he can do, I might P&P the heads and get a ported 90mm intake and TB. My goal is 350-400 NA. I might end up having to go with a bigger cam but it'll be worth it.
That would be my next choice. I don't think I have enough supporting mods for a custom grind to be necessary. the 224/228 seems solid though.
Two of the three fastest n2o 5.3s on this site use that cam.
