Yeah I had my truck 4-6 for 6 years, and I would def. want the car oil pan, or at least the h3 pan it's shorter than the truck pan, but if you are going to change it, you might as well get the f-body pan. The truck pan really hangs below the crossmember, and would be the first thing to get hit.
Really? That sucks. I wonder how much I can get one for? All I need is the pan and the windage tray and it will bolt right up?
You need the pan, windage tray, pickup tube, and dipstick. I got it all from S & P for $325. Otherwise it's a direct bolt in, it even comes with new bolts.
Which motor mounts are you using and how close to the fire wall is it?
I am using motor mounts from tpiparts.net they are multi position, I didn't want to buy a set and have them not work, they will put the engine either 1 in forward. standard, or 1 in backward. I used the 1 in. backward position, and it's perfect, it put the trans right back in correct position. There is still plenty of room to reach your hand down between the motor and firewall. The only issue I could see is if I were BD'ed I would have to run LT header's to clear the firewall, the manifolds, or shorty headers would not clear. Take it easy
I got shorties for mine already. Thanks for the info. I am sure I will have more question.
Well I am new to the ls swaps to, but if I know something I will try to help. BTW are you keeping your front end with the short bed, I like it and wondered about your plans.
No, I actually sold that front end already. It did not look right. It looked to big in the front. I am going with the 98 stock front end for it. I want a nice clean look.
Did you rebuild your firewall, or just cut and weld everything you did not need?
