You'll love it. By personal experience, if its not too big of a problem I'd keep the 4l60e. It'll be faster with it. And then make the swap to an 80e. The 80e will rob you of low end torque given the difference in first gear ratios, 3.06 v.s 2.48.

I would buy a 2002 up 6.0 that way it has the other crank and alum heads.
