If you use PVC... Get krylon black paint, and scuff up the PVC with some 100 grit. I think a can of spray on bed liner would look good.

Not to disagree with Jeff - yes use Krylon - but that Krylon Fusion works GREAT on plastic. No scuffing needed. I did my reservior tank and it still looks great.
