you guys think its worth it to replace the camshaft pos sensor, crankshaft pos sensor, and oil pressure switch while the engine is out? I priced it out through my work (napa) and its about $130 for all three. Do these go bad? I don't have any probs with them now.

They do go bad from time to time. It's up to you though. Replace them all now or possibly replace them later.

Only part left that I am waiting on is the crankshaft keyway. (woodruff key)
Engine should be all buttoned up in a couple weeks.

Well I finally have an update. I haven't been able to work on the project due to a mtn bike accident (my other love in life). I got a screw and four pins in my wrist.

but the engine is done!!! and the old 5.3 is out of my truck!
I am having my tuner come out the first part of next week to tune the computer.

Well its in the truck and running well! The cam is fairly tame in this motor, pretty manageable on the street, but still sounds like its got a cam. It pulls hard, but I haven't stomped on it yet (waiting to get some miles on it first). Once I get some miles on it I will get it on the dyno and get it dyno tuned.

Looks good. Can't wait to see the numbers. And ouch!!! How's that wrist? I havent been mtn bike riding in a long time myself. But might get out soon since the weather is finally clearing up.

The wrist is slowly getting better. Just little by little. I am doing loads of PT for right now. and yeah I can't wait to see some numbers put down, this thing is torquey........ but my tuner has already got me thinking about a turbo...

so what are all the parts used for the rotating assembly?
part numbers, brands?
what all do i need to buy to make this work if i decide to do this, bottom end wise?
