I changed my mind after looking throught the site a while and want to do my swap with an LS1 and a 4L60E transmission from Finish Line Transmissions.
I need help with finding the right LS1. I don't know if I'm gonna buy a brand new one yet or one with low miles on it but I want to know what years or variations I should be looking for and what are some good power mods for the LS1 that I can apply to the motor while its out and accessible. I want to up the power to around 400hp. And while its on my mind, will I be able to fit long tube headers without much problems?

easy mod to get to 400 horsepower=Nelson Tune. add a cold air intake, cam, springs, pushrods, forged pistons...

If your sticking with LS1 engine - then look into the 2000 and newer blocks....

can I get the cam, pushrods and springs in a kit?

Why not a 6.0L? An Lq9 will do nicely in your truck!

yea, im still researching I guess. What are some advantages of an LQ9?

larger displacement, 345 STOCK horsepower, start there. LS1 has what 350 stock ponies? but at 5.7 liters.
