I like my Vig. What comes with a stage 3 kit?
not really sure, the guy that tunes my cars just said that he would put the stage 3 kit in it. At least I think that is wat he said. I am going to take it to him later this week or early next and I will find out more. He said he usually charges 1250 to rebiuld the tranny and 780 for the converter, but he is giving me the package deal for 1600. I had him rebuild the tremec 6 spd in my ss and it has done great. He said he will also reprogram the computer for the converter as well.
I'm interested in details of that kit also, if possible. How much? From where? what's in it? I have a spare trans that I want to build.
he does the kits for 1250, you can call him and ask what all that includes. He does excellent work. 513-831-6000, his name is dave. He has some converters in stock.... they run about 780. he does everything though. Tunes the pcm for 100 bucks, a dyno tune is more expensive though.
i like my vigilante also, great performance and drivability.
LT1 Dave that is....He is doing the Shortblock for my SS right now. He is in Milford,OH which is about 20 miles from Cincinnati. I am waiting patiently, but it's hard to walk by my truck every day. I hope it's soon, aapparently the machine shop is very busy right now. BTW it is the same machine shop that does the engines for Superformance Cobras. I may have him do my trans WHEN it goes. I say when because I know 500hp + 5750lbs + AWD = Broken transmission(eventually). He is definately the local LT1/LS1 guru around here. He also does dyno tunes about every 2 weeks(dosen't have a dyno yet). Later
Dave

so does your converter moan any or does it drive like a normal converter. I am gonna be driving this truck everywhere and daily, so I am a lil afraid of the drivability. Dont really want to kill the gas mileage. Dave says this is the best converter I could get but I also wanted to get some outside opinions on how they drove. I do know dave likes alot of stall, he is gonna hook me up with a 3600, just hope it isnt too much. How lumpy is your cam and does it try to pull you at a light or does it idle free and easy?
thanks
a high stall tq convertor isn't going to pull at idle. It's going to have to get some rpm to pull away from a light. Normally, that is.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(carfreak07 @ Jun 15 2006, 10:34 PM) </div>i cant really tell i have a stall during normal driving. I was scared at first to get one but its not like the old turbo350's/400's. the computer control and these latemodel trans really makes for great driveability, I almost wish i would have gotten a 3000 stall. its so tame under normal driving my wife can drive it. There is a "little" surging while cruising at about 1500 cuz the clutches are heavy duty and you can slightly feel them lock and unlock but i dont even notice it anymore. Also I tow my car hauler no problem and tranny temps are right in the 160-170 range. My cam is small by some standards but does lope at idle but never surges. I love it. It does shake my truck as heavy as it is slightly.Quote:
