The main holdup on getting this going is a/c lines. There will not be room to put them on after the motor is bolted up. I have found a way but the lines are very close to the manifold. How much room do I have to have?

could you use some sort of heat sleeving to insulate them?
I plan on that. picture something like you use on a header. still need to know how much clearance is required. Its going to be very tight.
does anyone out there have a/c lines half an inch or closer to the exhaust manifold?
86 Silverado LS1, I have a modified LS1 A/C bracket that I machined all of the bolting faces (both sides) off 1/8". It would move your compressor 1/4" away from the frame and closer to the engine and 1/8" closer to the inside of the bracket. Would this help you out or make things worse? It was a pain in the butt to machine and then I didn't like the way the F-Body compressor looked so I installed a truck compressor so the lines would come out the side. I'm not sure if I'm gonna keep it for anything or not at this point.
I dont know. My problem is the compressor is too far back. Your bracket might help. Ill look at mine and see. As far as the truck compressor...Im confused! I went and got a truck setup and it sat about a half inch forward more than the LS1 unit. The belt wouldnt work. I think the truck balancer/acessories are longer (farther forward)
than the LS1. No room to move back. Is there something I am not seeing here? Thanks,Ryan cell # 770 652 9267
EDIT....NITROUS, give me a call. We might be on to something here. I saw one of your pics on a post about headers. If that is the setup that will work with the belt, it will solve my problem (at least I think it will ). I would also like your take 1BADC10. My cell # is up top or my toll free is 888-846-8468
