changing exhaust again

Ok I have had the glasspacks on for two days now, and they are about to come off. Its not that they are too loud or I dont like the sound, but my ears have been trained to that flowmaster tone and they have acutally given me a loss in power. My low end blows now. I think the way my setup is, i will need a dual in/out muffler.

So I just ordered a Super 40 dual in/out 2.5" muffler from Jegs. I had the 50 series SUV previously, but I have heard so many good things about these super 40 mufflers.

man I have just seen so many people gain alot of hp from ditching the flows. 2 tenths in the 1/4 is not underheard of from dithcing the flows hope it works out

I wonder if you lost to much back pressure with the Packs. Normally you loose torque if you flow to much. :twocents:

I dunno if its flowing too much, I think the problem is one pipe is flowing alot more than the other, and its making the banks very unbalanced. The way I have it ran, the drivers side has alot more bends and a much longer pipe, so I need a muffler like the di/do flow to balance the pressure out some.

Are you runnin an X or H pipe? Isn&#39;t that supposed to equal out the backpressure and help scavenging?

No X or H pipe, that wouldnt be as effective as a dual in/out muffler on my setup. The drivers side pipe bends and comes in front of the tranny pan to the passenger side and goes out to the back. It then has to go back around to the passenger side after the muffler and exit at the corner of the bumper. Thats why that kinda muffler works out better, it can be further back in the exhaust system, so there isnt that much difference in length of the pipe after the pressure is balanced in the muffler. It&#39;s just as balanced as i can get it.

Yeah thats almost just like mine is run, except mine goes from DS across the tranny behind the pan then into an X-pipe then into dual Dynomax Ultraflows and dumped. I didn&#39;t really want them dumped but the guy that was doin it said he would have to flatten out the pipe to get it over the rearend without hitting. He said that if it resonated too bad in the cab he would try it. I think it was more work than he wanted to do for the price he quoted me. I doesn&#39;t resonate as bad as the flowmaster I had on it with my V6 though, it&#39;s just louder.
