So I have a 1988 GMC Sierra regular cab that had the 700r4 and I am upgrading to an 05 4l80e/lq4 combo. I have searched for information regarding this upgrade and all I keep finding are 4l60-4l80 conversions. So what I am interested in finding out is what slip yoke and U-joint I need to make this work? Thanks!

I got to looking at my u-joints, and after measuring found that they are the s44/R3 joints which are 1.125 caps. Are these plenty strong for say 800HP? I understand that I will need to find one that is non-greaseable (solid), but I will also have to find one that is a conversion from s44 to 1350 for the new 80e yoke. Any other way to go about this that anyone has tried before? I have not found much on the s44/R3 u-joints in the forums regarding conversions to 80e. Thanks!
