I had a local machine shop put together a turbo motor for me and the rings never seated. The motor had blow by like there was no tomorrow. Motor only had 2k+ miles when it got pulled from the truck. I took the motor back to shop that build it and they couldn't figure out why the rings didn't seal.

Piston Probe SRS 2618-t6 wall to piston clearest is .004
Piston size 3.898 bore size 3.902
Top ring gap .024 second ring gap .032
