MLP and PRNDL switch

I recently did a 5.3 swap into my truck, but i broke the 7 pin switch on the transmission. Would that keep the truck from starting?
Im kinda puzzled what too check now? All i can think is that, but im not throwing any codes for it. I conncted the 4 pin one only.

what does it do when u try and start it?

that was the problem. The truck wouldnt do anything before putting a new one in. It wouldnt turn over or anything,as soon as i installed the new part the truck started right up. It has a starter relay wire going too it.
