Well i rebuild my 80e and everything is fine but the trans pan. It has a very very slow leak but its constant. I bought the trans star kit witch came with a cork trans pan gasket. Was i supposed to put anyhting on that gasket so it wouldnt leak? Has anybody had similar problem with this style gasket?
IMO, cork SUX!!! My 80e came with a re-usable rubber-steel gasket. Get a new rubber or rubber-steel gasket and it should stop leaking
i didnt like idea of cork but i thought if i came with the kit then it must be good. i have one of those rubber ones that comes with the trans filter, is that the style you mean?
Yes the rubber ones that come with a trans filter kit work well.
