found out today that my drivers side hub/bearing assembly is startin to fail...startin to wobble a bit..but not to bad...my question is how hard is it to replace the assembly?...ive looked over the manual and it doesnt seem all that hard...i have pullers and the tools available to me...AND...is there a certain manufactorer that is better then the other...or should i stay oem?

I would stay OEM. The hub/bearing on the driver's side is more of a PITA than the passenger side. I am sure you could do it yourself...but it might take a while...since they are such a PITA. :D
The National brand from Oreillys is good to. Put alot of those on without issues. They are easy to change... Takes about 10min on a lift. About 30min on the ground.
Well YOU have a lift and have done a lot of them. :D This guy has never done them before. I wouldn't say 30 minutes for a first timer...
Sorry for sounding stupid. But what's the difference between the 2. Wat makes it harder the the passenger side?

I'm assuming he meant the opposite. Driver's side is harder...on a four wheel drive the axle is real short and doesn't allow for as much "give". Otherwise idk. Plan on tight bolts and a breaker bar.Quote:

I have one trick for you. When you take the 3 bolts out of the back of the bearing you will find that the hub has rusted itself in place. If you reinstall the bolts and back them out about 3/8" you can hit the head of the bolt with an air hammer, which will drive the bearing out.
The only special tool you'll need is the big socket to take the axle nut off. I can't remember the size off hand
size is a 34mm but i have a 36 i spin mine off with. autozone rents them out
It is 35mm, but you don't have to worry about that on a 2wd.
The axles are the same left and right, I can't think of any reason one side would be harder than the other.
