LS7 Crank?
Does anyone know if these have the same journal size and spacing as our the rest of the LS series cranks? I'm getting an LSX block for one of my trucks and was wondering if anyone knows if the LS7 crank would fit? I have an opportunity to get a crank cheap :)

Something wants me to say yes about the journal size...but another part wants me to tell you that the LS7 crank has a longer snout to accommodate the dry sump oiling system the LS7 motor has... Not sure about the elimination of the 2nd oil pump and the use of the special front cover, but I think the LS7 crank is specially balanced to run the 2 oil pumps used for the dry sump.

not sure about the snout length, but a quick check of gmpp's web site clearly says rebalancing required if not using stock ls7 internals. i would assume due to the light titanium rods. dont know if it would be worthwile. mallory is not cheap, eagle cranks are!

the journal size is the same but you do have to have the snout machined down to use the oil pump for a wet sump system. and as stated the balancing of the shaft will have to be done if the ls7 rods is not used.

I can balance it no problem. Also can turn the snout down, but does that mean a new keyway needs to be cut too for the standard oil pump?
