lq9 in 93 1500 2wd scsb
hey guys i need some help i have a 93 chevy 1500, i am about to buy an lq9 the truck has the getrag 5spd manual just wondering about what i will need to use this transmission and also looking for suggestions about what cam i should use, the engine is out of a 06 escalade has about 18k miles on it, the engine has the drive by wire so ill need to swap over to a throttle cable is there a kit out there for this? or just try to buy an ls6 intake with throttle body? also what other problems will i encounter with this conversion?

Get a 6L with an 80e backing it up. :twocents: The Getrag will get ragged out in no time with real HP/TQ pushing it to it's limits.

no need to worry i have a back up getrag considering the one in the truck now has 368k miles on everything even the clutch:confused:

I have been searching and searching on this and I had to dig into the harness pretty deep to convert to cable throttle. I am not finished yet but from what im finding you have to splice new wires into the ECU connectors and take off the dbw ones, then get the dbw computer. Still in the process but I'll let you know (if I can get er done) what you need to do.

thanks any help i can get is very appreciated but as far as the ecu i still dont have that or the wiring harness ive been told to just buy the ecu for the 6.0 without dbw and theres a place thats pretty close by where i live called street and performance ill probably just buy my wiring harness from them

Oh yeah, they will have everything you need, almost, to do the conversion. They are very pricey but sounds like its convenient for you. NelsonPerformance can build you a 4 wire harness and sell you a PCM that has been programmed to work with your setup. Their price is a little better than S&P plus you get a whole lot better performance tune.

hmm i may check them out, im most likely going to be buying efi live for my dmax, soon as i sell the cheap programmer i have now it comes with two licenses so anything i mod after i get the cam installed i should be able to tune myself its about an hour drive to s&p from my house but if its cheaper and better at nelson ill check them out
