Throttle body leaking coolant??????

HI there I post a question about coolant leaking on my 2005 silverado with the 5.3 and was told to look at the water pump as they are comon problems? It is not leaking at the water pump, It is leaking at the throttle body. I loosened the clamp on the intake tube and there was coolant inside not wet but a very small puddle? and I noticed a drip on the intake directly below where the tube goes onto the throttle body. I heard there are hoses that run through the TB? can these be bypassed if it is leaking there? and will it cause permanent damage? any help would be great thanks.

yes you can bypass the throttle body. Go to the hardware store and get a hose adapter to join to 2 hoses or get you a longer hose.

The stock hose that runs into the passenger side of the TB is long enough to reach the nipple on the head. Take the drivers side hose off and put the passengers side on in its place.

IMO eliminates icing prevention and adds negligible and/or subjective horsepower gain.

I see you live right close to me, which is in a very cold winter climate. I wouldn't be bypassing it, the purpose of that coolant passage is to prevent the throttle plate from freezing up. I'd be fixing the issue. It maybe as simple as a bad clamp. Put a pressure tester on it and put it up to 18psi or so and see exactly where it's coming from, wheter it be the hose itself, throttle body or around the clamp.

well it's coming from inside the throttle body, it was inside the intake tube. when I took it off the intake tube a couple of drops of coolant came out. I did bypass it and now have no more coolant loss and the truck runs noticably better? I am going to get it checked properly. Thanks
