What u joints to get?

What brand u joints are you guys runnin?

GM or Carquest Golds

Brute force here, hope you have a torch to boil out the factory plastic filler that seals your U-joints in....!!!!

Not GM they're usually around $100 per.

I recommend using a u-joint press. Have you ever seen a u-joint cap almost take off somebody's head because someone was torching out the locks?

I use both....a torch to get the glue out and a press to R&R the caps. I have broken and shot caps accross the room a lot more with a press...never had one do it with the torch but I have seen it. I get them just hot enough for the glue to come out then let it cool off. BTW, I'm too small and weak to get them out with my press with the glue inside.

torch, correct size socket and a ball peen hammer :lol:

make sure the replacements are greaseable most aftermarkets are just good to have

You only want greasable U joints If you go off road (To purge water out) If you drive it stays on the street, Solid U joints are stronger
