Anyone know the way to hook one of these up? This is what I've found on it so far but I just wanted a second opinion before I do it.
PIN 2(PURPLE, some diagrams stated it's GREEN) data from pin 58 serial data.
PIN 4 (LT BLUE/BLACK)ground
PIN 5 (DARK BLUE)ground
PIN 16 ORANGE/BLACK)power at all times.
It just didn't sound right to me, it seems like there should be more than one wire going to the pcm and why would there be two that go to ground?
thats about right. i know on the standalone harness's ive made i only used 4 wires. power, ground and signal.

The comm line is purple, power is black and/or black and white...what else is needed?

Duh! No it's not. You have an OBDI '91. Did your swap harness come with an ALDL?
It came with the reworked harness I bought but wasn't connected it only has the four wires listed in the first post.
There is only one wire needed to the data bus. On an older truck, there is no other Class2 devices besides the PCM so it only needs to go to the PCM. Many components have redundant grounds. It needs power and ground for the scanner.
