speedy swap?
I have a close friend about to start the project of putting a 00 model 5.3 into a i believe 87 silverado. The motor has already be swapped once. It has a ls1 intake on it and a full painless wireing harness to go with. He believes since he already has a running set up he can just swap it over to his truck in a weekend. After reading about everyones swaps they have done it appears to me that a few days isnt feasible. So wanted to know from the people who have did this hands on what time line he needs to be looking at and are there any serious time saving tips. (this truck is his only means of transport)

Get a daily driver first. There will be things that come up. Then theres no pressure either, which is nice.

Keep in mind We have tried to tell him over and over that this is at best a week or two job. If it runs smoothly. Wanting to tell him a actually figure someone has seen. Maybe he will listen if its someone who did this exact thing

For instance, what fuel delivery system are you using & do you have all the parts & what amount of time has been alotted for its installation? This portion alone, in a 1987 truck, could take all weekend.

ideally if you had "everything" and we lived in a perfect world you could do the swap in a weekend but...
you know as well as everyone else when working on vehicles 9 times out of 10 there is going to be a issue with something.
But given you have everything at hand a good week isn't to far out of the ballpark. Just my opinion.
