OBX are stainless steel. They come with a Y pipe with resonators that look like cats - nice for visual inpsections. They have 4 bungs for the stock o2 sensors. There are two additional bungs for wideband or what-have-you.
Pacesetters aren't stainless and a lot of the workmanship is shoddy in my opinion. That being said, some of the fastest trucks run the Pacesetters and they do the job. I just think the quality of the OBX can't be beat.
My one and only complaint about the OBX is the up-loop in the primary on the drivers side. It makes it difficult to install or remove the two rear spark plugs. Worth the frustration if you ask me.
I liked my pacesetters, but they collected a wee bit of surface rust which I didnt care for. Install was pretty easy on my truck with the pacesetters
I went with OBX. I should be getting them this Friday and will have a good review of them.
I too, was torn between Pacesetter and OBX. I ended up going OBX because I had the ability to buy the 6.0L Kit (the Y-pipe doesn't meet) which allowed me to buy a mandrel bent cat back that will be much easier to install and has true dual exhaust.
With the Pacesetter I would have had to custom fab a Dual exhaust (Pricey) or be stuck with a Single 3" with an offroad Y. Which the ORY wouldn't make it tough to even pass a visual inspection (no "pretend" cats).
Top that with stainless and a copy-cat version of dynomax for less than half the price. After all that it was really a no brainer.
If I decide to go farther with my truck, (cam, heads, headers) I would pick the OBX. You won't find a more durable setup for the price.
I would pick OBX for the quality materials, but yeah--getting to the spark plugs is a BIATCH. I like the easy of install plus the ease of routine maintenance that comes with the Pacesetters.
OBX.....No question. The material is 2nd to none. 304 stainless speaks for itself. Fit (except for the slight rubbing on the frame at WOT) is great. I like mine anyway.
