Tires...

Im just doin a little planning a few weeks in advance. im set on gettin 17" rims x 8"(up front) and 10"(rear) when i do my 4/6 drop later this month. i would still like the option to go with same size tires all the way around, which i think i can sorta find a happy medium with 275/40-45's/17's if i wanted. for the first set, lol i decided id go ahead and do different sizes this time. ill go 275/40/17(25.66") and 245/45/17(25.68") as these are the closest compared sizes i could find and the speedo would only be off 00.05mph....btw, i used http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizeca...p?action=submit for the calculator if it matters. now the question, who makes a good set of mild performance tires in these sizes?, by mild i mean i dont want all out traction and quick treadwear, but decent treadwear and decent traction. i know they are close to sports car size, but being a truck i didnt know if it required a different design/load rating, blah blah blah for some odd reason. i like the pirelli scorpion zeros and thought also about some goodyear Eagle F1's cause i figured if they came stock on L's and guys are havin good results, then id consider them.

any feedback or recomendations for me...these 17" small performance tires are kinda new territory for me.

here is a quick OLD list i made... id kinda like to stay around $150, and would consider Nitto's if they dont wear too fast, dont have money to get new tires 4 times a year.

I think you have the right idea with the L tires. I bet that will look kick ass on your truck! I agree with the traction vs wear think I would like to have some traction with good wear so I'm not buying $200 a pice tires every week. Allen can edit the PCM for the new tires (I bet you didn't know that) Hahahahah You might try some 9" width all around if they will fit. Alot of SUVs are running 9.5 width rims.

im so on the fence with this sh!t it aint even funny. id end up spendin $800 even if i get those F1's used(CKTA on FSC)...although i did find a guy on LS1Tech that has some on his SS wheels(i doubt he would seperate) with 1500 miles on em.

I have narrowed it to a few....
1. Kuhmo Supra 712's ($432 shipped, w/pro-rated even treadwear warranty)
2. Nitto's ($554 shipped, no warranty)
3. Falken Ziex's 512's ($498 shipped)
4. Yokohama AVS ES1000 ($534 shipped)
5. Eagle F1's (highly doubtful now @ $800 even used)

Sounds like the Kuhmos are your best bet but what do I know. Tires are only borrowed like beer.
