Have you broken a 4l60e input drum and/or shaft?

I haven't broken one in My LS1Ram yet, but its still just stock power 5.7l est. 290 rwhp

This came out of my 451 rwhp heads cam 6.0L Camaro. 75hp shot est. 520rwhp.

    best on motor was 10.5 @ 127, best on nitrous was a 10.22 @ 132 1.44 60' on both runs

I have the give this stock input drum credit, it has been running 10's for the past 3 years, and probably at least 500 street passes over that time.

I ended up with another used input drum, but before I installed it I used the sonnax sleeve kit with the billet forward piston.

I have to ask some of the guys on here if you have broken this same part at this same place, I hear alot of broken input shafts with people who have over 5,000lbs and 450rwhp in their trucks...but do they actually break the shafts? or is it mainly this section that cracks....??

The shaft looks fine, so I'm thinking the shaft itself isn't much of a weak point, mainly just the aluminum drum that presses over it...

It broke where they typically do. Nothing new here, you just found a known problem. Should not happen again with the sleeved drum. However, I am surprised it broke at your weight and power. Seems like it help for a really long time. Definitely will have no problems with the sleeved unit.

Everything else in the transmission looked perfect, the band has been in there for 4 years...still looked new, the 3-4 z-pack had some wear causing clearance from new(installed) to go from .050, to its used state .060. Also installed the HD 2-3 shift valve for racing in "3rd" gear selector position, should help support the sprag. I also ended up installing the wide rear sun gear bushing as well.
