    160* tstat/cold weather

    Hey folk
Last year I got a tune from nelson and was told that a 160* tstat would help out. My question is...during cold weather will the 160* tstat hinder my heating capabilities in the winter? I'm no wuss when comes to cold weather but working on the water in thw winter tends to get fridged. And walkin up to a warm truck is always nice.

    Thank in advance

Unless you think 160* is cold...you'll be fine. Might take an extra 3 minutes of driving/ 6 minutes of idle to get to same temp out of vents
blown transmissions are about as useful as 97% of the guys on this forum

I was stationed at Fort Campbell, Ky when I owned my 90 model Chevy and it had a 160 T-stat in it. When I installed in I was still living in Tx and was more worried about it getting too hot... anyhow in Ky the winters are colder than Tx, but it did not inhibit the heater capability. In fact to me it was more comfortable, because with the stock T-stat I would roast like a turkey in the oven and found myself reducing the heat. Now being from NJ it might be a different experience than my experience. Besides you could always go up to a 180 if need be.
