220/224 cam swap in a 4wd GMC sierra

I have a friend with a 2008 L33 like mine and I currently have a 212/218 114 cam in mine and he wants to install a 220/224 114 is his. We both a 33" tires 3.73 gears and a circle d 2600 stall. I feel this cam is too big and he will need at least a 3000 stall what do you guys think. I do mostly cars not too many trucks so maybe Im wrong ? I just think it will lose too much lowend.

I think you both need more gear and stall speed. That's just me though...

that cam'll lose a bit of the bottom in favor of some good top-end HP. he'll definitely need a healthy stall to not feel like a dog.
00 FRC - just top end, exhaust, and a hot-air intake
    99 Sierra - 5.3 / 5spd
