    5.3 cost

    well i went today to a salvage yard to get a quto for a 2006 5.3 and the guy quoted me 1100 i told hime i didnt need anything on it cause i was doing a swap and he said the same price with no alternator or compressor etc i think thats a little high for the engine i just wanted yalls opinion on how much i should pay for one or if you know anybody selling one let me know

    ah man,thats bs.im sure you can goto any junk yard around houston and get a 5.3 for less then that....

    craigslist shuld have some aswell

    there should be some on the classified here too

    why not just go 6.0?

    would go 6.0 but The gas milage may kill me im not sure what the mpg difference is and then it would be more work in swapping that...and do you know of any good junkyards around here

    ha who needs gas. well i called around and the lowest cost was 500 at apache auto parts that sound alot better than 1100
