Cuz I don't think they will give you anymore than about 3500 trade in value.
If you sell privately you could get about 5,000.
Then you could give them a decent downpayment and still keep a little to fix up your new truck. Maybe get a Nelson tune, air intake, or something for the outside like a grille.
I think a 2000 GMC outta run ya about 15,000. So its your call.
